Billy Idol, de son vrai nom William Michael Albert Broad, n� le 30 novembre 1955 � Stanmore dans le Middlesex en Grande-Bretagne, est un chanteur rock britannique. Il a fond� le groupe Generation X, et jou� de la guitare au sein de Chelsea, alors consid�r�s comme �tant des groupes punk-rock.

� l'�ge de 2 ans, sa famille d�barque aux �tats-Unis, � Long Island - New York pour y vivre "le r�ve am�ricain". La famille rejoint le Royaume-Uni 4 ans plus tard. Billy en gardera un bon souvenir de voitures et de musiques. Il a une soeur pr�nomm�e Jane.

Il vit actuellement � Los Angeles dans les hauteurs de Hollywood. Il a � son catalogue 3 albums d'or, 3 de platine et un double album de platine.

Son premier groupe s'appelait The Rockettes.

Son surnom de Idol lui vient d'un de ses enseignants qui le traitait de fain�ant "Idle" (se prononce comme Idol en fait).

En 1976, le jeune Idol quitte l'Universit� de Sussex pour rejoindre le mouvement punk et plus particuli�rement le groupe Bromley Contingent. Chacun des membres de Bromley Contingent finit par monter son propre groupe et Billy Idol fonde Generation X avec Tony James.

C'est apr�s le 3e album de Generation X (son groupe punk anglais) et alors que la vague punk est en train de s'essouffler qu'il d�cide de partir aux �tats-Unis pour tenter une aventure solo. Sa rencontre avec Steve Stevens, guitariste, lui rapportera d'�normes succ�s.

Generation X se s�pare en 1981 apr�s 3 albums. Billy Idol part pour New York et rencontre Bill Aucoin, le producteur de Kiss, groupe de hard rock qui rencontre un �norme succ�s aux �tats-Unis. Son premier album �ponyme sort en 1982 et reste deux ans dans les charts gr�ce entre autres au titre White wedding. Cependant, c'est son deuxi�me album Rebel yell qui lui ouvre les portes de la notori�t� avec plus de deux millions d'exemplaires vendus. Deux albums suivent, Whiplash smile en 1986 et Charmed life en 1990.

En 1990, un grave accident de moto l'obligera � rester au lit pendant pr�s de 6 mois. On le voit d'ailleurs boiter dans le film The Doors d'Oliver Stone.

En 1993, Billy Idol conna�t son premier �chec commercial avec Cyberpunk, d�lire techno-rock r�alis� apr�s avoir particip� � une partie de jeu de r�le du m�me nom Cyberpunk. L'album recevra n�anmoins de tr�s bonnes critiques de la part d'une nouvelle client�le, les r�listes du jeu de r�le cyberpunk pour son ambiance tr�s proche du jeu permettant ainsi de faire tourner l'album durant les parties[r�f. n�cessaire]. L'ann�e suivante, il fr�le la mort suite � une overdose. Il reste discret jusqu'en 1998 o� il fait une apparition dans le film The Wedding Singer. 3 ans plus tard, Billy Idol sort une compilation.

En 1976, Mike Barson (� Barso �), Chris � Chrissy Boy � Foreman, Lee � Kix � Thompson et Chas Smash (de son vrai nom Cathal Smith), forment un groupe de ska appel� � The Invaders �. En janvier 1979, apr�s l'arriv�e de Graham � Suggs � McPherson, Mark Bedford et Dan Woodgate, ils adopteront le nom de Madness, en hommage � une chanson de 1961 de Prince Buster : � Madness (is gladness) �.

Leur premier simple est un autre hommage � Prince Buster, intitul� The Prince sur le label Two-Tone. Madness quitte ce label pour Stiff Records et enregistre une autre reprise de Prince Buster, un titre situ� en face B du 45 tours � Al Capone � de l'artiste jama�cain et intitul� One Step Beyond.

Dans la foul�e, Madness enregistre son premier album, intitul� �galement One Step Beyond..., dont est extrait My Girl, le troisi�me simple du groupe.

Madness, contrairement aux autres groupes Two-Tone comme The Selecter, The Beat et bien s�r The Specials, �tait compos� exclusivement de musiciens blancs. Leur discours �tait par ailleurs moins politis� et c'est probablement pour ces raisons que des membres du National Front britannique - auxquels on assimilera d'ailleurs abusivement l'ensemble du mouvement skinhead - jet�rent leur d�volu sur Madness. L'affaire, abondamment relay�e par la presse, sera � l'origine du titre Don't quote me on that, sur le mini-album Work, Rest and Play.

Fin 1983, Mike Barson, qui regrette que le groupe s�oriente vers quelque chose de plus pop, quitte le groupe et part vivre en Hollande. C'est le d�but d'une p�riode en demi-teinte pour le groupe, qui finit par se s�parer en septembre 1986 apr�s la sortie de � Mad not Mad �. L'album tr�s pop, loin des sonorit�s enjou�es des d�buts, est au contraire assez nostalgique. Les critiques britanniques titrent "Mad not bad". Il est vrai que l'on note beaucoup de maturit� dans cet album tant au niveau des textes que de la musique.

En 1988, le groupe se reforme bri�vement sous le nom The Madness, avec Chris Foreman, Lee Thompson, Chas Smash, et Suggs, auxquels viennent s'ajouter Jerry Dammers (ex Specials, claviers), Simon Phillips (batterie), Bruce Thomas (guitare basse), et Steve Nieve (claviers). The Madness enregistrera deux simples ("I pronounce you" et "What's that ?") ainsi qu'un album intitul� The Madness.

Suite � cela chacun continue son chemin sans le groupe : Mark Bedford travaille en qualit� de designer graphique, Chas Smash travaille pour Go!record, Woody devient le batteur du groupe "voice of the beehive". Lee Thompson et Chris Foreman forment les � nutty boys � et sortent un album intitul� "Crunch", qui deviendra le nom du groupe plus tard. Suggs tente une carri�re solo avec un premier album en 1995 "the lone ranger" compos� avec l'aide de Mike Barson.

En 1992, � l'occasion de la sortie de la compilation Divine Madness, le groupe se retrouve pour des concerts au Finsbury Park en 1992, 1994, 1996 et 1998, ainsi qu'� Londres et autres villes britanniques.

En 1999, le groupe complet (avec le retour de Mike Barson) sort un nouvel Album : "Wonderful". Un album de Pop britannique dans la veine pop des derniers disques du groupe, il marque aussi le retour du Ska (avec une chanson � The communicator � �crite par Smith). On retrouve �galement sur ce disque Ian Dury (auteur de Sex & Drugs & Rock n�Roll mort entre temps) qui chante avec eux sur la chanson � Drip fed fred �.

En 2004, le groupe se reforme encore une fois avec pour nom de sc�ne � The dangermen � faisant de petites sc�nes londoniennes pour des reprises � la sauce ska. Le The Dangermen Sessions Vol. 1 ayant bien fonctionn� en 2005 (certainement gr�ce � une campagne publicitaire importante jamais vue en France autour de ce groupe) il est plus que probable qu�un volume 2 voit un jour le jour. Mais toujours rien en vue.

En 2006, en octobre, le groupe lance sa page sur "Myspace" ainsi que sa nouvelle composition "sorry", dont le single se classera dans le top 25 anglais. En m�me temps c'est le retour confirm� de Chris Foreman qui avait pourtant quitt� le groupe sur cette phrase "the petty time-consuming bollocks going on in the band".

Depuis la sortie de l'album "Dangermen Sessions" en 2005 et le retour de Chris foreman, le groupe travaille sur son nouvel album "The liberty Of Norton Folgate". Ce concept album a pour th�me Londres. Entre 2006 et 2008, 23 morceaux ont �t� enregistr�s pour ce disque. Un premier single, � NW5 � s'est class� d�but 2008 dans le top 25 des charts anglais.

Produit au Toe rag par Clive langer et Liam Watson, The Liberty Of Norton Folgate sort en mai 2009.

Form� en 1980, New Order est un groupe new wave / electro-pop britannique originaire de Manchester.

Il se compose au d�part des membres restant du groupe Joy Division dont le chanteur Ian Curtis s'est suicid�. � la suite de ce drame, ils optent pour un changement de nom et adoptent celui de New Order sur une suggestion de leur manager, Rob Gretton. Ce nom a fait l'objet de pol�miques, comme celui de Joy Division qui pouvait faire allusion � l'�poque nazie.

Le groupe comprend Bernard Sumner (dit Barney ou encore, dans Joy Division, Bernard Albrecht, Bernard Dicken) au chant, � la guitare et aux claviers, Peter Hook (dit Hooky) � la basse et Stephen Morris � la batterie. Gillian Gilbert, la compagne de Stephen Morris, rejoint les trois anciens de Joy Division d�s la fin 1980, aux claviers et guitares. Elle est remplac�e depuis 2001 par Phil Cunningham (ancien guitariste du groupe Marion, autre groupe de Manchester).
Leur premier album Movement garde une identit� tr�s Joy Division dans le son et aussi la fa�on de chanter de Bernard Sumner qui rappelle Curtis . Ensuite, le groupe explore d'autres voies, plus �lectroniques et dansantes. Innovateur par son m�lange des genres post punk et house, New Order est consid�r� comme l'un des groupes les plus acclam�s et influents des ann�es 80 avec A-ha, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Erasure, Eurythmics, Simple Minds et U2

Scorpions est un groupe de hard rock,allemand fond� en 1965 � Hanovre, en Allemagne. Leur premier album a vu le jour en 1972. Le groupe a connu un prestige plan�taire - surtout � partir des ann�es 1980 - en raison de titres hard rock tels que No One Like You en 1982 ou Rock You Like a Hurricane en 1984 et de ballades � l'instar de Still Loving You la m�me ann�e ou Wind of Change et Send Me an Angel en 1990, toutes chansons au succ�s commercial presque syst�matique. Le d�clin m�diatique venu � partir des ann�es 1990, les protagonistes se sont tourn�s vers de nouvelles exp�riences, avec notamment Moment of Glory (avec l'Orchestre philharmonique de Berlin) et Acoustica (album live acoustique) mais reviennent � leurs recettes traditionnelles en 2004 avec un Unbreakable salu� par de nombreux fans et suivi en 2007 de l'album Humanity - Hour 1. � ce jour ils ont vendu plus de 100 millions d'albums � travers le monde[4]. Le 23 janvier 2010 le groupe annonce sur son site officiel, qu'apr�s leur tourn�e mondiale accompagnant la sortie du nouvel album, ils mettront un terme � leur carri�re.

Megadeth est un groupe de thrash metal am�ricain form� en 1983, en Californie par Dave Mustaine. Ils sont reconnus comme l'un des quatre groupes de thrash metal les plus influents (The Big Four of Thrash) avec Metallica, Anthrax, et Slayer. Le groupe se dissout en 2002 � cause d'une blessure nerveuse s�v�re au bras gauche du guitariste Mustaine, mais apr�s beaucoup de r��ducation pour ce dernier, le groupe a pu se reformer en 2004. Leur mascotte est Vic Rattlehead.
On estime aujourd'hui que le groupe a vendu plus de 25 millions d'albums � travers le monde.
Actuellement, le groupe est compos� de Dave Mustaine � la guitare et au chant, David Ellefson � la basse, Chris Broderick � la guitare, et Shawn Drover � la batterie.
